Door: Corner and perimeter frame

Searching...

Doors with corner and wrap-around frames (also known as door jambs or jamb frames) are a very common type of door. The frame surrounds the wall opening on three sides or is mounted on one side of the wall opening as a corner frame. Corner and wrap-around frames can be made of wood or steel.

Because of the similar design approach, corner and perimeter frames are treated as a single design guideline here.

Information on handling doors in the early design phases is described in the article "Doors: General Information."

In this phase, the surface and structural properties of the component are specified.

    Labeling

In this step, you enter the height and width of the door you are modeling.

In Austria, the clear width and height of the passageway are marked. Plan view:

    Instructions

Depending on the content used, these required features may vary; this also applies to the modeling methodology (multi-layer or hybrid). Accordingly, an opening function must be provided for a door. This does not apply to a single-layer modeling methodology.

The basic process of modeling a door in ARCHICAD remains the same across different design phases and for different types of doors.

Instructions for creating a door can be found in the article "Door: General."

    Features:

In this phase, the building physics properties are added to the door. These are defined at the type or instance level, depending on the content used.

The basic process of modeling a door in ARCHICAD remains the same across different design phases and for different types of doors.

Instructions for creating a door can be found in the article "Door: General."

During this phase, the construction details are finalized. If necessary, the doors are modified accordingly.
