Instead of organizing information about building components in disconnected graphical representations, descriptions, and lists, the BIM method enables object-based management. Digital building models consist of three-dimensional individual objects such as doors, radiators, or technical systems, each of which represents a digital representation of its physical counterpart. The objects function as digital containers—all necessary information is stored within them.
